Update - 17 September 2008: Congratulations to Lewis Ryder on Winning the overall Space Residency competition

DJsounds’ video competition gives four DJs a chance to play at Space Ibiza in a bid to take a 2009 residency at the club and 22-year-old Lewis Ryder from London is the very first winner.

In heat 1 DJ Zhenya Burzhuy from Kiev, Ukraine was the initial winner but sadly, due to visa complications, he was unavailable to play at Space.

Consequently the judges chose the closest runner-up, Lewis Ryder to represent in the Red Box at Space…

Lewis DJs at events like Jaded at The End in London and since 2006 hosts his own night, Hindsight, at clubs like Egg.

Lewis’ own productions, meanwhile, have been making amazing progress, garnering support from the likes of Nic Fanciulli, Laurent Garnier and Hernan Cattaneo.

‘Empty Draw’, for example, the track that Lewis used in his video mix is out this month on his label, Bigger Deer Recordings.

Yes the standards are high but then so are the stakes. So stay tuned for more competition clips and to find out how Lewis gets on against the winners of heats 2, 3 and 4.
